The Amish where founded by a man named Jacob Amman in Switzerland in the year of 1693.
They broke off from the Mennonite group because they wanted to stay true to their beliefs and religion. To this day they are still called by some people in some places "Amish Mennonites". Since the year of 2013, there are 450 Amish settlements and throughout the country, and 250,000 people in the Amish faith. The states with the highest Amish population in the U.S. are Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Some people estimate that Ohio contains the highest controlled Amish population in the world. The books of faith and religion are the same as most Christians. They use bibles just like most religions. Below is a picture of a bible that is used by the Amish.
